LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Governor Whitmer has signed two measures that are designed to protect the safety of school children who ride a school bus.
The first allows cameras to be installed on the stop arm in order to catch drivers who illegally pass buses that have their red lights flashing.
The second makes it a misdemeanor to attempt to board a bus without permission.
The cameras will allow law enforcement to utilize a picture to ticket offending drivers, instead of requiring an officer to see the incident in person.
