BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Investigators in Calhoun County have identified the body that was found in the Battle Creek River over the weekend. Detectives say the remains of Luke Fleming were found by kayakers in a wooded area along the water, west of the Elm Street bridge Saturday evening.
His body was taken to the Calhoun County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy on Sunday. There was no apparent cause of death and investigators are waiting for the result of toxicology tests to learn more about what might have happened.
Fleming had last been seen on August 16 at his job. He used a bicycle for transportation and a bike was located near where his body was found, but they haven’t confirmed that it was his. Anyone who may have seen Fleming after August 16 is asked to call Battle Creek Police or Silent Observer.
