A lot of rain fell over parts of the nation last week with records falling in some areas.
However, downpours were scarce in corn and soybean growing regions and the crop condition from USDA this week reflects that fact. USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey says there have been some major declines in corn condition in the last seven days with two percent less of the crop in the ‘good to excellent’ category and one percent more in the poor to very poor range.
As far as soybeans are concerned – it’s now one percent less of the crop in the good to excellent and one percent more in the poor to very poor.
A further drop could be coming days from now in the next condition update.
