KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo State Theatre has announced that it will be reopening this Friday, but new measures are in place under the COVID-19 pandemic.
When the venue reopens, visitors will need to provide proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days before the event, or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of an event.
The venue says proof of vaccination may include a physical card or a photo of a complete vaccination card that matches the patron ID.
Proof of a negative test may be a printed or digital test result that matches the patron ID.
“In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our commitment remains to prioritize the safety of Kalamazoo State Theatre fans, artists, and staff,” officials said in a statement. “We will continue to monitor and evaluate our procedures according to the guidance and protocols of the CDC, MDHHS and the City of Kalamazoo.”
The venue adds that children under the age of 12 who cannot get vaccinated may show proof of a negative test for entry.
In addition, masks will be encouraged, but are not required for entry.
