BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The identity of a body pulled from the Battle Creek River west of Elm Street over the weekend has not been determined yet.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the body was caught on a tree and it had been in the water for at least a day or two.
A family who had been kayaking reported the body to authorities late Saturday night. It was recovered by the Calhoun County Area Law Enforcement Underwater Recovery Team.
Battle Creek Police think the body is a 29-year-old man.
An autopsy was performed Sunday at the W.M.U. Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine.
