SILVER LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a fatal crash that took place in Silver Lake Township early Monday morning.
Just before 3:30 a.m., police were called to a report of the crash, which took place in the area of M-62 Highway and Sink Road.
Police say a driver, 22-year-old Enrique Aguirre of Dowagiac, was driving eastbound when he left the roadway, overturning his vehicle multiple times.
He was ejected from the vehicle.
Police say Aguirre succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor, but police noted that a seat belt was not worn in this crash.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
