KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The City of Kalamazoo has begun a program of determine where illicit discharges may be entering the storm water system.
Public works officials began the dye testing in the downtown area on Thursday, with permission from the state Environmental, Great Lakes and Energy Department.
City officials state that it is important to insure the quality of storm water discharge, as it ends up flowing into local rivers, streams, and lakes.
The program will continue through Tuesday, August 24th.
