HASTINGS MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Barry County man who had filed a petition to have County Sheriff Dar Leaf recalled said that he had withdrawn his request.
The man, who remains anonymous, stated that numerous death threats against him and his family over the action prompted the withdrawal.
Altogether, 13 instances of alleged misconduct by Leaf were listed in the petition, which was filed with the Governor’s office.
It accused Leaf of abuse of power. misusing county funds, and not effectively representing the citizens of Barry County.
