HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland resident Kenneth Raymond-Herbert Osborne, 57, has been arraigned in Holland’s 58th District Court on the following charges, according to Holland Public Safety Capt. Robert Buursma:
- Unlawful imprisonment
- Assault with a dangerous weapon
- Stealing/retaining financial transaction device without consent
- Unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle
- Habitual offender
His bond has been set at $100,000 cash. Buursma noted that police also recovered the victim’s car, which detectives believe Osborne moved from where it had been parked, at the victim’s son’s home, to a spot a few blocks away from the home.
Buursma said police were summoned to a home on 17th Street near College Avenue on the report of a stabbing at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021. Officers found a 52-year-old Holland woman with a laceration on her right arm.
She told police she’d gone to her son’s 17th Street home to care for his dog while he was at work. Her son’s housemate confronted her, grabbing her and threatening her with a knife, according to police.
When she struggled to get away, police said, is when she was cut on the arm. Osborne allegedly tied up the victim, telling her he needed money, according to Buursma’s statement to the media.
She managed to escape and call 911. She was treated for the cut to her arm and released from Holland Hospital Tuesday evening.
Police found Osborne a few blocks away, allegedly with the woman’s credit card.
