A more than two century tradition continues this week as the 2022 edition of the Farmer’s Almanac appears on store shelves.
First published by Robert B. Thomas in 1792, the longest lasting periodical in North America has gone through several name tweaks, adding and dropping the word ‘old.’ And while it is no longer read exclusively by farmers, that word remains prominently featured. Animal husbandry tips have been dropped over the years while other advice has appeared like, how to cut your lawn to increase its growth.
The 2022 Farmer’s Almanac is 184 pages chocked full of tips and weather predictions. Its editors say they hope it’ll help you re-connect with the outdoors.
