DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Detroit Tigers broadcaster Jack Morris is apologizing for some racially insensitive remarks he made about Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani.
The former big leaguer and current broadcaster for Bally Sports Detroit mocked Ohtani in a racially insensitive accent as the batter swung and missed at a ball. Morris would then apologize late in the game for his remarks.
Morris directed his apology toward the Ohtani and the Asian community while accidentally calling Shohei “Jose” at first.
