SHERMAN TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Two people were involved in a weekend crash that resulted in one man being airlifted to a hospital, the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.
The incident occurred Friday just after 10:30 p.m. in Sherman Township when police were called to Banker Street Road and Nottawa Road.
Police say a truck, driven by a 20-year old-male from Sturgis, was traveling eastbound on Banker Street Road when it collided with a motorcycle, which was driven by a 43-year-old Sturgis man.
The motorcycle driver had been traveling westbound on Banker Street Road.
The driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to Bronson Hospital for life threating injuries. The occupants of the truck reported no injuries.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash, which is still under investigation.
The report was made public on Monday. An update to the condition of the motorcycle driver was not immediately made available.
