KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Western Michigan University officials have announced that the school will require weekly COVID-19 testing of students and staff that are not vaccinated.
Starting the week of August 29, those who live on campus in Kalamazoo will begin testing, while those who live off-campus will begin being tested the week of September 5.
University president Dr. Edward Montgomery said in a press release, that students who do not comply with the new guideline will be dealt with by the Office of Student Conduct, while staff and faculty who decline will be handled by employee policies and collective bargaining agreements.
The new policy will be re-evaluated in October.
