REMUS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Wednesday, officials with the Wheatland Music Organization announced that the September 2021 installment of its annual
festival has been canceled.
Previously, the music and arts festival had announced that it had sold out of tickets at the beginning of July.
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in mind, organizers had said there would be preventive strategies in place, including a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on site.
In a Facebook post Wednesday, organizers announced that the festival will no longer take place due to health and safety concerns.
It was originally scheduled for Friday, September 10 through Sunday, September 12.

“We considered every option, but in the end, concluded that the necessary measures would be practically unmanageable and ultimately incompatible with Wheatland’s organizational values,” officials wrote. “So, it is with sadness and great regret that the WMO Board has unanimously voted to cancel the Wheatland Music Festival for 2021.”
At this time, organizers say they are working on details for refunds and rollover options.
Officials ask that ticketholders be patient while those details are developed.
Organizers also say they are working on details of merchandise availability, as well as the status of its other events.
