LANSING, MI — Another night of rough weather across the state has left over 200,000 homes and businesses in western and northern Michigan without electrical service after fast-moving storms brought high winds and caused major damage Tuesday night. Mid-Michigan was spared from the severe weather.
Severe weather was reported in parts of the state after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday as winds reportedly as high as 70 mph knocked down trees, limbs and power lines.
Consumers Energy warns for people to stay at least 25 feet away from downed power lines, keep children or pets away, and report the issue by calling 9-1-1 and Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050.
Forecasters predict another night of stormy weather with the potential for severe weather across Michigan.
