BATTLE CREEK MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Like many other states, Michigan is dealing with a shortage of teachers, and one area district has announced incentives it will offer to teachers who come there.
The Battle Creek School District is offering math and science teachers a six thousand dollar bonus, and all other instructors a five thousand dollar bonus, to teach in the Cereal City.
District officials say that current BCPS teachers will also receive the five thousand dollar bonus as a thank you for returning.
Other incentives include tuition reimbursement, housing incentives, and paid professional development.
