SILVER CREEK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A three-vehicle crash in Cass County has left one person dead and three others recovering from injuries at a hospital. It happened Monday afternoon just after 5:30 at the intersection of M-51 and M-52 in Silver Creek Township.
Investigators said the driver of an SUV made a turn into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the approaching vehicle collided with the SUV, sending it into the path of a pick-up truck, causing the three-vehicle collision.
A passenger in the SUV, 21-year-old Elizabeth Schoen of Osceola, Indiana, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the only one involved who was not wearing a seat belt. The driver and two other passengers in the SUV were transported to a hospital in South Bend and their conditions are not reported. No injuries to drivers and passengers in the other two vehicles were reported.
