GRAND LEDGE, MI — Grand Ledge Public Schools will require masks when students return to the classroom this fall.
The Grand Ledge School Board voted 5-2 on Monday night in favor of the mask mandate. The plan calls for all students and staff to wear face coverings while in GLPS buildings, regardless of vaccination status. Students head back to school on September 7th.
Other mid-Michigan school districts, like Okemos and Holt, are also requiring students to wear masks inside school facilities. In Lansing, the mask mandate is only for children under 12, since they cannot currently get vaccinated, according to school officials.
