BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek Public Schools has announced it will require masks for students and faculty at all buildings in the district this fall, regardless of vaccination status. Masks will also be required on buses and all other school transportation.
School officials made the decision based on recommendations from the Calhoun County Health Department. Superintendent Kimberly Carter gave the update during a Board of Education workshop Monday night. Along with recommendations from health officials, a survey had been sent to parents. It showed nearly 60 percent of those who responded supported having CDC-recommended precautions in place.
Classes at Battle Creek Public Schools begin Wednesday, August 25.
