PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the drowning death of a 57-year-old Paw Paw man.
Police say the man drowned in Ackley Lake after being submerged underwater for more than an hour on Saturday, August 7.
Responders were dispatched to the 34,000 block of Hillside Avenue in Paw Paw Township for possible drowning around 2:21 p.m.
911 calls indicated that a man had been submerged for about 10 minutes and that there were several boats in the water looking for him.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department says the victim’s identification will be release pending notification of family.
