CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A Michigan Department Of Transportation project on 11 Mile Road in Calhoun County that was originally scheduled to start on June 1 is now set to get underway on Monday.
MDOT says crews will be chip sealing and fog sealing over 13 miles of the road which is also known as M-311 from M-60 in Burlington north to M-96 which is also known as Michigan Avenue.
It’s estimated the project will end by October 29.
Drivers can expect single lane closures with a traffic regulator.
MDOT says the project will extend the life of the road and improve safety. Chip sealing is a surface treatment that fills cracks and helps in preventing water from penetrating the road surface. It also provides an anti-glare surface during wet weather and an increased reflective surface for night driving.
