PAW PAW MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan State Police authorities continue to look into an accident Thursday that killed a Holland man.
The initial investigation showed that a pickup pulling a motor home east on M-89 in Richland Township apparently lost control while on some curves, with the motor home jackknifing and forcing the truck off the road, where it flipped over on the driver’s side.
A passenger in the truck, 80-year-old Michael Smith from Holland, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver, a 78-year-old Holland woman, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Ascension Borgess for treatment.
Neither victim was wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
