BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Calhoun County jury will continue considering charges against a Battle Creek man accused in a rape case from two years ago.
42-year-old Terrance McClinton could spend the rest of his life in prison if he’s convicted in a June 2019 incident involving a 54-year-old woman who was assaulted. The case had been delayed by 15 months due to the pandemic.
Jurors heard testimony from the victim and other witnesses Wednesday. The woman said she was walking near Taft St. when she was grabbed from behind and then pushed into some bushes where she was physically and sexually assaulted.
Police were called after nearby residents heard a woman screaming. McClinton was arrested a short time later after he was located and fit a description the woman had given to authorities.
