The August yield and production forecasts of U.S. crops has been released by Barchart.
The figures are trending higher based on increased yield expectations for both corn and soybeans which are now more in line with the latest from USDA. Barchart’s corn forecast is 15 billion bushels on a yield of 180.3 bushels per acre putting it slightly above the department’s predictions. Meanwhile, soybeans should be 4.4 billion bushels on a yield of 51 bushels per acre according to Barchart.
The company says it has trimmed expectations for Canadian production and yield based on severe drought.
