JACKSON, MI — A former Catholic school music teacher will spend between 12 and 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing two children.
Sixty-seven-year-old Joseph Comperchio of Fort Myers, Florida was sentenced on Wednesday and needs to register as a sex offender. Comperchio abused the children when he taught at St. John Catholic School in the 1970s in Jackson.
Attorney General Dana Nessel says the sentence is a reminder that they are “here to listen to victims of abuse and pursue accountability on their behalf.”
