PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A large power outage in Portage earlier this week was apparently caused by a critter.
Consumers Energy said Tuesday that a raccoon had come into contact with equipment. As a result, over 7,000 customers in Portage lost electricity late Monday evening. The outage was mainly along and south of the Westnedge and Milham intersection and toward Crossroads Mall.
Power was restored to the affected area late Tuesday morning.
