Fire at manufacturing facility in Battle Creek injures two with smoke inhalation

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A fire at a manufacturing facility in Battle Creek Wednesday morning caused damage and minor injuries to two people.

Fire crews were called to a building owned by Transcontinental Michigan on Brook St. around 9:25. Smoke was coming from a side garage that was open.

Firefighters were quickly able to get it under control and then performed ventilation to remove trapped smoke in the building. Two company employees were checked by medical responders for smoke inhalation.

The cause has not been reported and the fire remains under investigation.
