CENTREVILLE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office is out with a warning for residents to be vigilant and secure items of value.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark A. Lillywhite says his office responded to a report of stolen property on Friday around 8:00 a.m. in the area of Stears and Constantine Road.
According to investigators, multiple spools of copper wire were stolen from the property between 7:00 p.m. Thursday and 7:00 a.m. Friday.
In another incident, Lillywhite says his deputies took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 23000 block of Angevine Road in Mendon Township Monday, June 19.
Investigators say a black 2004 Chevy Silverado with license plate EDC4110, extended cab long bed truck was taken from the property between Sunday 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Monday.
The Sheriff’s department advising these types of incidents are on the rise and to secure vehicles and not to leave valuable items or keys inside of them.
