DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers completed a four-game sweep of the Texas Rangers with a 7-5 win at home.
Eric Hasse swatted a three-run homer to help lift Detroit to its seven straight win.
The Tigers begin a six-game road trip tonight with a three-game set against the Kansas City Royals. Wily Peralta gets the start for Detroit in the opener while Kansas City counters with Kris Bubic. The opening pitch is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. EDT.
The Tigers have placed infielder Isaac Paredes on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hip. Detroit recalled infielder Willi Castro from Triple-A Toledo to take his place on the roster.
The Tigers also announced that pitcher Michael Fulmer has started a rehab assignment with Toledo. Fulmer has been out of the lineup with a right cervical spine strain in his neck and is expected to return to Detroit’s bullpen by the end of the month.
