KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A man who was accused in a stabbing at a homeless encampment earlier this week has been arraigned, according to an update from MLive Wednesday.
Previously, police had arrested a 39-year-old Kalamazoo resident Tuesday morning. The incident occurred Monday evening at the Ampersee Avenue homeless encampment.
He has since been identified as Eric Rush.
Rush is accused of stabbing another man with a machete and brandishing it at another person, the report said. Police had also said that the victim was expected to recover.
He now faces the following charges –
- Felony assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder
- Felony assault with a dangerous weapon
Rush is currently lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail, and was given a $10,000 cash or surety bond, the report said.
He will be back in court on July 29.
