KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Part-time instructors at Western Michigan University passed out flyers and protested on Monday to express their frustration with the low level of pay they say they are dealing with.
The union representing the instructors, and the University, have been locked in a months-long dispute over the union’s request for an initial raise in pay of between 43 and 54 percent.
The two sides are now in mediation over the issue.
Part-time instructors currently earn at least $1050 per credit hour for classes they teach.
