WAYLAND MI (WKZO AM/FM) – UPDATED: Police have identified the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Sunday in Wayland Township, according to an update from WOOD TV Monday.
According to that update, the victim was identified by police as 72-year-old Norman Charles Mills of Scotts.
Sunday afternoon, Mills had struck a Chevy Impala that was slowing down due to a traffic backup on southbound 131 near 135th Avenue.
Mills, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was thrown from his motorcycle and later pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported in this incident.

Michigan State Police authorities report that the man, who was riding a motorcycle, struck a Chevy Impala that was slowing down due to a traffic backup.
The accident occurred on southbound 131 near 135th Avenue in Wayland Township.
