New housing/business project being constructed in Stuart neighborhood

KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A new project to contain housing and businesses is set to begin construction in one of Kalamazoo’s oldest neighborhoods.

Westgate Commons will sit on W Michigan Ave. in the Stuart Neighborhood, in the location formally occupied by Rorick Brothers Auto Repair Shop.

The four million dollar project received assistance for the environmental cleanup from Kalamazoo’s Brownfield Development Authority.

It is expected to be completed by the fall of this year.
