KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kzoo Cat Cafe & Rescue is celebrating its 4th anniversary and are hosting their popular Kittenpalooza event Saturday.
It includes a pay-what-you-want bake sale while people can visit with a playpen full of foster kittens. Appointments to visit the cat cafe can be made at www.kzoocatcafe.com ahead of time or you can just show up in person, as long as there is space.
Past proceeds from Kittenpalooza have gone to help support cat rescues. This year, all donations go toward the rescue’s ongoing Forever Home Fundraiser.
“If you’ve followed us for a while you’ll know that we’ve had some devastating setbacks in our search for a bigger, more permanent location for Kzoo Cat Cafe & Rescue in the last year and a half,” says cafe director Abbey Thompson in a Facebook post. “We are doing everything we can to ensure we have everything in place ASAP so we can move forward with purchasing a permanent home in Kalamazoo for the cafe.”
Kittenpalooza will be hosted outside Kzoo Cat Cafe & Rescue’s facility on W. Michigan Ave. next to Jimmy John’s from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. Cash, card, or Venmo donations will be accepted.
