PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – This Thursday, the City of Portage will be hosting its second drive-in concert of the summer.
The city will host “Departure: A Journey Tribute Band” at Ramona Park, located at 8600 South Sprinkle Road, on Thursday, July 15 at 7 p.m.
Parking will open at 5 p.m. with spaces available on a first come, first served basis. Parking is limited.
Lazy Man BBQ will serve concessions for purchase throughout the evening.
The city provided the following statement about the concert:
“In their 13th year together, Departure is the most respected Journey tribute band in the nation. The band replicates the look, sound and feel of the original 80’s rock super group – Journey. Departure plays all the hit songs that everyone knows and loves and pride themselves on giving their audience an incredible high-energy, qualitative stage show from start to finish. Residents can watch the concert from personal vehicles or bring a chair or blanket.
Admission is free thanks to the Summer Concert Series Sponsor, the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo. No ticket or registration is required for admission into this event.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the Portage Central High School Auditorium, located at 8135 South Westnedge Avenue.
