BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek man believed to be an accomplice in the disappearance and presumed murder of Amber Griffin in 2020 will be headed to trial. 28-year-old Julice Haggerty is accused of tampering with evidence and lying to a police officer.
Griffin was reported missing in June of last year. Her boyfriend, Derek Horton, has already been charged with her murder and is also awaiting trial. The Battle Creek Enquirer reports in interviews with Haggerty, a friend of Horton, he acknowledged that it was likely Griffin had been seriously injured or worse.
He reportedly helped Horton clean blood and dispose of sheets. He initially said he had not seen Horton around the time of Amber’s disappearance, but the evidence proved otherwise, according to detectives.
Her body still has not been located despite several search efforts.
