PORTAGE MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Portage officials have posted signs around the city that emphasize that hate is not welcome there.
The signs were placed at city hall and all public parks and spaces.
City council members recently passed a resolution that condemned all hateful actions and speech, and the city also created a Community Outreach and Diversity Department.
A spokesperson for Portage stated that the actions were to make the point that all are welcome in the city, and that Portage is an inclusive and friendly place.
