BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A Battle Creek man who has been charged in connection with the June 27 murder of Eniyah Hollins was arraigned on Thursday in Calhoun County District Court.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports 39-year-old Ernest McGill has been charged with open murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and being a habitual offender.
McGill is being held without bond. A preliminary exam has been scheduled for July 28.
Police don’t think the 24-year-old Hollins was the intended target when she was shot while attending a street party on Hanover Street near Walter Avenue.
Investigator think that shooting and an earlier shooting at #1 Legends Bar and Grill on Porter Street are related.
