KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened Saturday, July 3, on eastbound I-94 near Galesburg.
Responders from the Michigan State Police, Paw Paw Post, Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office and the Charleston/Galesburg area Fire Department, responded to the crash near mile marker 87 around 3:10 p.m.
Officers say the deceased male, a 33-year-old Kalamazoo resident was observed driving an SUV erratically at a high rate of speed before losing control. The vehicle then rolled over, collided with the median barrier wall, and ejected the driver who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say it’s unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were factors.
