BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWNWTVB) – A suspect has been arrested in last weekend’s shooting death of a Battle Creek woman who was killed while she attended a party on Hanover Street.
Detective Sgt. Joel Case told the Battle Creek Enquirer a 39-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday on open murder and weapons violations in connection with the death of 24-year-old Eniyah Hollins. The suspect is being held without bond.
An arraignment is expected to take place Friday in Calhoun County District Court.
The case is still under investigation.
Hollins was shot in the head as she stood outside at 3:24 a.m. last Sunday morning in the Park Hill neighborhood.
It was initially thought by police the shot came from the intersection of Hanover and Walter Avenue and that Hollins was “not likely” the target.
