Red Wings hire former Colorado star as assistant coach

DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Red Wings have hired former opponent Alex Tanguay as an assistant coach.

Tanguay is expected to work on boosting Detroit’s struggling power play.

The 41-year-old spent 16 years in the NHL and played with Colorado from 1999-2004 during the Red Wings and Avs rivalry.
