KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The non-profit group Simple Safety Rescue Force of Kalamazoo is holding a virtual event this afternoon. It’s aimed at raising funds for the popular seat belt safety campaign started by two local EMTs called “buckle down on the buckle up”. EMT Andie Grube gave us the details for the effort.
“Tonight we’re doing our very first virtual fundraiser from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Facebook and TikTok. For every $100 raised, we will dunk a first responder (in water). All of the proceeds are going to our very first community event which will be a car seat check event later this summer.”
Simple Safety Rescue Force is comprised of Kalamazoo area police, fire, and emergency response officials.
