EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State University is aligning its Covid-19 policies with the state’s and rescinding its remaining restrictions to campus life.
President Samuel L. Stanley wrote on the school’s website Monday: “Last week, the state rescinded most of its remaining COVID‑19 public health and workplace orders. This means, in most settings, there no longer are any face mask mandates, restrictions on the sizes of gatherings or limitations on venues, such as restaurants.”
It also appears students will experience a more normal fall on campus with few restrictions if any when it comes to attending classes and living in dorms. “As we look toward fall, MSU is not mandating COVID‑19 vaccinations at this time outside of some very limited settings. However, based on the trends we will monitor over the next several weeks, including the number of COVID‑19 cases and the impact of vaccinations, this could be revisited,” Samuel wrote online.
