KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Tuesday, officials with the Kalamazoo Public Library (KPL) announced plans for mobile library services.
There will be a series of events that residents can participate in.
KPL officials provided the following statement about the program:
“Between 1956-2009, a friendly bookmobile staff visited both the rural and urban areas of Kalamazoo providing materials and services to patrons. During the summer of 2020, KPL’s new Mobile Library was delivered and since then has only been used to deliver free books and technology to in-need children in our community.
And now the moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived! The KPL Mobile Library is officially rolling out this July with a series of events across Kalamazoo! We are very excited to finally show you all the KPL Mobile Library has to offer as we cruise into multiple neighborhoods and parks to give out books, reusable KPL bags, and roll-up picnic blankets (while supplies last!).”
Upcoming scheduled stops are listed as follows:
- Tuesday, July 6 | 5–7 pm | Food Truck Rally at Flesher Field
- Wednesday, July 7 | 4–6 pm | Rockwell Park
- Thursday, July 8 | 2–4 pm | Upjohn Park
- Friday, July 9 | 11 am–2 pm | Black Arts Festival Youth Day at Douglass Community Association
