BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two separate drive-by shootings were reported in Battle Creek early Sunday, leaving one person dead.
The first shooting was just after 2:00 a.m. outside Legends Bar and Grill on Porter St.. Police said five or six gunshots were fired from a vehicle that passed by the business just after it closed. One man suffered minor injuries from debris when a bullet struck the building.
Just before 3:30 a.m.. a 24-year-old woman was shot while standing inside a home during a party. Police have identified her Eniyah Hollins and say she died from a single gunshot wound to the head. They say the gunshots were fired from a vehicle near the intersection of Hanover Street and Walter Avenue and that Hollins was likely not an intended target.
Investigators are reviewing video but currently have no leads or descriptions of suspects or the vehicles involved. They also have not confirmed yet if the two shootings are connected.
