BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN) – Due to the heavy rain and potential for lightning, the City of Battle Creek has announced that the water valve work that was scheduled to take place at nearly a dozen locations in the city Friday night and Saturday night has been postponed.
This means that the streets scheduled to have the work done will NOT have a water shutoff these two nights.
It’s expected the work will be rescheduled sometime after the July 4 holiday.
Crews completed the sewer replacement before the rain. That pavement cut will remain on North Avenue until the weather improves and crews can pave it.
North Avenue will be closed until further notice between Calhoun Street and Groveland Street with a detour in place.
If the weather allows, crews will pave the street Monday, and reopen North Avenue.
