GUN PLAIN TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Allegan County investigators are trying to locate any additional victims of a Battle Creek man accused of exposing himself to two women earlier this month.
On June 3rd, Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Meijer store on M-89 near Plainwell. A woman told them a man had entered her vehicle while she was parked and made lewd comments while exposing himself. The woman says she exited the vehicle and started yelling for him to get out.
The man then fled the scene but was quickly arrested by responding deputies. They later learned he was likely involved in a similar incident earlier that day in Otsego. He’s identified as 19-year-old Timothy Popenhagen and along with the indecent exposure charges, deputies located a loaded handgun in his vehicle.
Anyone who may have encountered Popenhagen under similar circumstances on or before June 3rd is asked to contact the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office.
