SPRINGPORT, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – With the warm weather here, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is reminding motorists to pay extra attention for motorcycles after a 41-year-old motorcyclist from the Charlotte area was struck by a car and suffered serious injuries Thursday afternoon.
They say the crash happened at about 1:10 p.m. on 27½ Mile Road near Charlotte Landing.
The Sheriff’s Office says the motorcyclist was unresponsive in the middle of the road when they arrived.
A further investigation revealed that the driver of the motorcycle was traveling south on 27½ Mile Rd when a north-bound vehicle driven by a 51-year-old woman from Springport turned in front of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision.
The motorcyclist was transported to Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Springport Fire Department and Albion Ambulance.
