LANSING, MI — Michigan’s Gatherings and Face Mask order is due to expire on July 1st, but Governor Gretchen Whitmer is hinting it could be lifted ahead of then.
In Grand Rapids Wednesday, the governor said she will “probably have something to talk about in the coming days and make some announcements soon.” She added COVID-19 numbers continue to trend in the right direction.
July 1st is when masks are no longer required inside and restaurants and theaters can operate at full capacity.
Michigan’s new COVID-19 cases are at 179 for Wednesday. The Department of Health and Human Services says that brings the total number of cases to 892-thousand-830 since March 2020. There were just four deaths yesterday.
