WATSON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A driver who fled from police after an attempted traffic stop in Allegan County ended up causing a three-car collision Monday afternoon.
Sheriff’s deputies were patrolling on M-89 in Trowbridge Township at around 5:00 p.m. when they attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver took off immediately and ran a stop sign at the intersection of 24th St. and M-222 in Watson Township, striking two vehicles.
The driver who fled is listed in critical condition. The drivers in the other vehicles both suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The Michigan State Police accident reconstruction team is currently investigating the crash.
There’s no word yet on why that driver may have tried to flee from authorities.
